Olivia Carruthers
Olivia Carruthers is a committed member of the Shealey Law Team, where she has gained invaluable experience in the field of criminal defense over the past few years. Known for her strong work ethic and attention to detail, Olivia plays a crucial role in supporting the firm’s attorneys and ensuring that clients receive the best possible representation.
Originally from Ashburn, Virginia, Olivia graduated from Virginia Tech, earning a Bachelors degree in Political Science with a focus in Constitutional Law. Inspired by a deep interest in criminal defense, Olivia decided to pursue a legal career and enrolled in Charleston School of Law School. She graduated in May of 2024 with her Juris Doctorate degree.
While in school, Olivia was a founding member of the South Carolinians for Alternatives to the Death Penalty student division, the treasurer for the Christian Legal Society, as well as a member of Women in Law and Survivor Advocate Society. Olivia also serves as a volunteer Guardian ad Litem.
Since joining the Shealey Law Firm, Olivia has immersed herself in various aspects of criminal defense work. Her responsibilities include conducting legal research, drafting motions and briefs, and assisting in trial preparation. Olivia has developed a keen understanding of the complexities of criminal law and is particularly passionate about defending the rights of the accused.
