Maddi Hood is a passionate advocate for your rights. A Florida native, she earned her undergraduate degree from Florida State University before settling in Columbia, South Carolina.

In 2023, Maddi decided to attend the University of South Carolina School of Law to pursue her life’s goal—helping people. Maddi has worked at South Carolina Legal Services, where she assisted clients with critical housing and consumer law matters. She has also clerked for the 11th Circuit Public Defender’s Office, working alongside attorneys dedicated to ensuring fairness and justice for indigent clients. These experiences deepened her commitment to public service and strengthened her litigation and research skills.

At the University of South Carolina School of Law, Maddi worked for the Criminal Defense Clinic. She had the privilege to defend individuals against criminal charges in trials, court hearings, and plea negotiations. Maddi was able to hone her advocacy skills with the goal of advocating effectively for clients.

Since joining the firm, Maddi has worked closely with both the civil litigation and criminal defense teams, gaining experience on getting clients advantageous results. Maddi has learned to prioritize communicating with her clients and learning each case inside and out. Maddi is passionate about pursuing a career that focuses on serving her community and ensuring that everyone has a voice in the legal system.
