Elisabeth Harrington

Elisabeth Harrington – Law clerk: Elisabeth Harrington is from Essex Junction, Vermont. She attended the University of Vermont for undergrad where she majored in Biological Science and minored in Psychological Science. After living in Vermont for most of her life, she was thrilled to move closer to family and make South Carolina a home.

Currently, Elisabeth is a 3L at the University of South Carolina Joseph F. Rice School of Law. In law school, Elisabeth is an eReport Editor for the ABA Real Property, Trust, and Estate Law Journal where she continues to hone her legal writing skills. Elisabeth is also a 3L Representative for the South Carolina Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers where she helps bring her passion for criminal defense to the school. In her free time, Elisabeth enjoys reading, spending time with her schnauzer, listening to live music, attending USC sporting events, and crafting.

Elisabeth has previously worked at the Sixth Circuit Public Defender’s Office and the Richland County Public Defender’s Office. Both experiences provided her with invaluable insight into the role of a criminal defense attorney and the criminal justice system as a whole. Additionally, she was able to strengthen not only her research and analysis skills, but also her commitment to serving her community. Since joining the Shealey Law Firm as a Law Clerk, Elisabeth has continued to expand her legal knowledge and has been given the opportunity to draft motions, demands, and other legal documents in both a criminal and civil rights context, as well as participate in trial preparation. Elisabeth loves the opportunities, mentorship, and collaborative environment the Shealey Law Firm provides and looks forward to continuing to learn and grow as an advocate.
