Catherine Gibson
Catherine Gibson is one of the law clerks at the Shealey Law Firm, assisting the attorneys with legal research, evidence review, and trial preperation. She is passionate about criminal defense work and ensuring that defendants get the highest quality advocacy.
Originally from Charleston, Cat received her Bachelor’s from Brandeis University in English, with minors in Legal Studies and Politics. She moved out to Seattle and worked at a medium-sized law firm before deciding to come back to South Carolina to attend law school, and she is currently a 3L at the University of South Carolina School of Law. There she is Assistant Student Director of the University’s chapter of the South Carolina Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers and is on the executive board for the Public Interest Law Society. She is also a member of the Moot Court Bar and had the opportunity to argue at the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals as a part of the National Moot Court Competition. Outside of work and class she enjoys reading, listening to music, and spending time with her friends and her cat, Vonnegut.
