Riana Husted graduated from the College of Charleston in 2015 with a B.A. in Political Science. She obtained her juris doctor from the Charleston School of Law in 2020 and was a member of the South Carolina Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers Student Division and legal fraternity Phi Delta Phi.
Prior to beginning her final year of law school, Ms. Husted completed an externship at the Charleston County Public Defender's Office, where she cultivated a passion for trial work and representation of those charged with serious criminal allegations.
Upon being admitted to the South Carolina Bar, Ms. Husted worked at the Beaufort County Public Defender's Office, advocating for indigent clients accused of crimes ranging from simple misdemeanors to serious felonies. She is particularly passionate about protecting her clients' constitutional rights from being violated by law enforcement, such as during routine traffic stops.
Ms. Husted is always eager to fight for her clients and enjoys connecting with people of a variety of backgrounds. She is currently a member of the South Carolina Bar, non-profit organization South Carolina for Criminal Justice Reform, and the South Carolina Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers.
Ms. Husted is based out of the Charleston office and will be focusing her practice on major criminal defense for those in need in Charleston and the surrounding areas.
